Arenal volcano - Costa Rica 2010 Shutter: 30 minute hand timed Aperture: f6.3 ISO:1250 Camera: Canon EOS 1Ds mkIII Lens: Canon EF 24-105mm f4L IS @32mm Original size: 5616 x 3744 pixels Arenal volcano in Costa Rica is most spectacular at
night. A frequent cascade of red hot rocks is best
photographed with a long exposure. Here an exposure of 30
minutes increases the dramatic effect of the erruption and
combines this with star trails. The foreground trees are lit
by lights from guest rooms at the observatory lodge.
