This chestnut mandibled toucan sitting on the nest was taken while standing in the road at considerable distance so was not being disturbed. Thanks to Doug Brown whos workshop I was attending for the loan of the 7D to give that extra reach. The combination of 7D with 800mm and 1.4x allows an incredible working distance without having to crop the image but requires live view focus.
