This red-eyed tree frog was taken at a snake zoo in a group photo session held in a private room. The branch was clamped to a tripod and the frog placed by the zoos owner. Lighting was by several flashes triggered using a hotshoe mounted trigger. The background is a poster print of an out of focus forest view lit by another slave flash.

Natural light plays no significant part in the exposure which is controlled by the flash power and distance from subject and background.
